The reverse osmosis technology used in the Geyser Prestige filter involves water filtration through a semi-permeable membrane. The pore sizes of the membrane are so small that they allow only water molecules to pass through. The size of molecules for most impurities, as well as bacteria and viruses, is significantly larger than water molecules, which is why they do not pass through the membrane. The Geyser Prestige P filter operates at a minimum inlet pressure of 2 atm. The included pressure booster device will elevate the pressure level to 3-6 atm.
